I purchased a Mac-mini to replace my old one, and the new one had an HDMI port, just like the old one. However, when I connected my monitor to it, the monitor would not wake from sleep when I pressed a key on the keyboard. I had to manually power on the monitor each time. This wasn't an issue with my previous Mac-mini.I purchased this adapter hoping that the USB-C connection would have more smarts, since Apple seems to have put all their eggs into the USB-C basket. I connected this to one of the USB-C ports, and the HDMI cable into the other end. Everything "just worked" at that point. All my monitor resolution and preference settings were maintained. The monitor now wakes up from power-save mode when I press a key on the keyboard to wake up the computer. The adapter seems sturdy and well made. Connections are solid. I also ordered a USB-C to Lightning cable from JSAUX, and it also seems high quality at a good price, and is working well for the connection between the new Mac-mini and my iPad and iPhone. They may become my "go to" vendor for these kinds of cables and adapters.
