I own 3 of the Pro 1500 S models purchased in 2018. All 3 of them produce a constant high pitched coil whine that erratically fluctuates between 8000hz and 9000hz. Quality electrical components should NOT whine. It's not normal and don't let them gaslight you to convince you it is normal. It is a symptom of cheap electrical components. They cheapened out, plain and simple. I didn't see any warnings about the potential for hearing loss in the owner's manual. Pretty sure my exposure to these units is responsible for my difficulty hearing above 16000hz when I listen to audio tests, and not just due to age. I used to hear above average for my age, now I hear well below average for my age. Further, when I am not in the same room as these, I can still hear the whine, even while outside. I can only conclude these things gave me hearing loss and tinnitus. I will never buy APC brand again.
