It does exactly what it says—adds two medium-power USB-C charging ports to an outlet.I replaced a standard outlet on our kitchen island with it so we can charge our iPhones and such. Using a USB-C to iPhone cable I was able to fast charge my phone at 12w. It’s not powerful enough to charge a laptop, but I wouldn’t expect it to be.Installing it was straight forward. Anyone with home electrical experience that could swap an outlet normally can easily do this. The unit is large, though, so it was a bit tough getting it and the wiring to fit in the box, but that’s the same with any outlet with stuff like this in it.Additionally, I have a GFIC breaker installed in the panel to protect all the outlets in the kitchen, including these. While the outlet is very large and is better if you have large receptacle boxes, it is a nice addition to any house with a lot of gadgets.I have replaced about 1/2 of my outlets with this feature. You just have to have cables around.Product works as described. Over all size is larger than standard electrical outlets. Limited space for wiring and outlet in standard box. It took some work but could be more than a DYI install. Over all great upgrade in kitchen and bathroom.Seems to be put together pretty well, and size isn't so large it won't fit in the box.It doesn't do 20v, and drops back down to 5v when both ports are in use. Claims to do 15v@2a if only one device is connected. As you can see in the photo, I was only able to log
[email protected] charging an iPad Pro. I got up to 1.65a in some other testing. Also odd the price difference between the colors. No one had Black in stock even at 2x the price. But I took the face plate off these and hit them with a few coats of black paint for plastic and it's all fine.Looks great works great. Couldn’t find a flat black outlet to match it.Quickly charges both my phones at the same time. Although not at full speed, I can also use it to charge my Dell 2 in 1 laptop. I plan on getting a second one, I just wish it was cheaper.I'm upgrading to USB-C from an old fixture that had a single 110 outlet and two USB-A ports in place of the other 110 outlet. This will give me another 110 outlet, which can come in useful on occasion, but the cordless phone base station's power brick, as small as it is, blocks the two USB-C ports. I'm going to need to find a short pigtail to get that power brick out of the way. I can't really ding it for that, though, as it's simply a design choice. If you want two 110 outlets, those USB-C ports are going to have to be where they are.Aside from that, I like this fixture — it was easy to install, looks nice, and I'm all set for USB-C charging.I use it for my iPad Air and Google Pixel phone and both say they rapidly charge. Works fine as a standard AC outlet, and I have no issues charging USB devices. Installation is like any other outlet, except you'll have to shove the electrical wires in pretty tight due to the size of this thing.Basically it's a power outlet with a USB charger stuck to the back of it. You're not charging directly from AC power because it has to be converted to DC and there's also computer chip for USB-PD. It gets pretty hot and there's no ventilation inside walls, so time will tell if the heat will eventually damage it over time.My first concern is the build quality of the USB-C ports. They feel a little loose, and I'm not sure it will last 10+ years like a standard outlet would. It's a power outlet so it should be designed to handle a little abuse like someone tripping on the cable and yanking it out.I didn't see a reset button either, so I'm not sure how it recovers from something like a bad USB cable or a short. (For example, like how my phone shuts off the port if it detects an unsafe charger.)I’m sure lots of people want to know if this will run their home pod mini. Yes it willThis product was a rare find as it supported 30 watts on each port however the product doesn't support 20 volts and many computers require this to charge including my X1 Carbon. It means it reverts back to 5 volts, which is not going to maintain a charge and the battery drains. My Surface Go however can charge as it and the outlet support 15 volts. I'm giving it 3 stars as it both doesn't support 20 volts and decidedly avoids mentioning that in the listing.I will wait to see what else comes on the market that may support full PD before getting another.Great product. Only usb wall outlet with enough power for my Samsung 15W wireless charging stand. The only down side is that the cost is too high still, when comparing to even the most cutting edge name brand plug-in fast changing bricks. The product works reasonably well but I have noticed that if there's a cable plugged in not in use and another cable plugged in and in use the charge rate drops. Seems as if as soon as anything is plugged in both ports it splits the pdOkay, love the idea that I can have a usb-c easily accessible but man-oh-man, the thing is massive.Seriously; check tat you have the square footage to getting it into a outlet. It takes up a lot of volume.
