We have three of these now, and they are working well for charging a range of devices, including 14-16" laptops.I bought an old MacBook Pro 16 two months ago. The charger that came with the device was a large and heavy brick, so I started looking for a suitable replacement. I hope that this alternative can use gallium nitride technology to reduce the volume and weight effectively. I was lucky to find this charger, and it met all my needs. First, it is small enough, and its size is the same as Apple's 45W MagSafe charger; secondly, its power is high enough, and the power of 100W is even higher than my original 96W; finally, it is cleverly designed, and the foldable pins can be effective. Protect other items in the school bag.Note: Someone in the comments mentioned that the charging power is less than 100W. After my actual test, you only need to use Satechi's charging cable to achieve 100W output power.Smaller alternative to Apple’s heavy power brick. After two months it seems to get the job done. I feel less heat from this unit at full power. This space gray colored wall charger is beautiful and matches the color of my MacBook Pro 13" perfectly. This is a single port, USB C Power Delivery wall charger that is capable of delivering the full 100 watts of power (the maximum amount that USB C can charge). This is enough to charge the 2019 MacBook Pro 16", and basically every other Apple device that has a rechargeable battery (from the little baby iPhone 12 mini, all the way up to the 12.9" iPad Pro and all of the MacBooks). I would have liked it if they would have included a second port with support for 2.22 Amp/9 Volts, so that the iPhones could be charged at full speed. These kind of chargers have profiles and they can switch between them for different devices, based on what the device in question requires. It will charge iPhones at 15 watts, because this charger doesn't have the ability to do 2 Amp charging. This is actually super common on the these 60 watt and up PD chargers, they support 15 watts and 27 watts, but nothing in between. The speed difference between 15 watts vs 20 watts is not that much, but it would still be ideal for it to be able to charge iPhones at the fastest possible speeds. I noticed a few more omissions in the list of supported profiles, here are the different ones that this charger can do: 15/27/36/45/100 watts. I was surprised that 60 watt charging is missing. It may be that some devices are capable of using a higher profile than what is required to charge it, and only pull some (but not all) of the available power, but I really don't think it works that way. Admittedly though, I am not an expert on USB C Power Delivery. This charger also supports Programmable Power Supply, which is what some Samsung devices require for their fastest charging. It's kind of a newer addition to Power Delivery 3.0 and it's the biggest reason why I said that the lack of a 60 watt (3 Amp/20 volts) profile might not be such a big deal. In the other direction, this should be fine for charging things like the AirPods or other accessories that don't require much power. The only other issue I have with this charger is that they don't include a USB C cable. It's not that unusual for one to not be included anymore, but a basic 1 meter USB C 2.0 cable would have been nice. I think this is a good charger to be your one and only charger for charging everything, at least when you're away from home overnight. This Satechi 100W USB-C PD Wall Charger measures 2.75” x 2.37” x 1.25” and weighs just around 7 ounces after it's unboxed. This Satechi 100W USB-C PD Wall Charger is colored in a familiar "space gray" that is so popular in Apple Circles and this charger will slot in with similarly colored items as seamlessly as if it were made by Apple. What I liked most about this Satechi 100W USB-C PD Wall Charger was:- Powerful. I did not realize my Samsung S21 had a super-fast charging mode until I plugged it into this power adapter. I have used others that boast of 100-watt charging but this is the first one that triggered that message on my phone which makes me question some of the other power adapters I own. Bigger devices like my iPad and Chromebook charge fast with this charger as well and I am thoroughly impressed with its power.- Aesthetics - I own an M1 Mac Mini, an iPad, and a couple of other apple devices. I opted for space gray and this adapter looks far more natural charging them than does the white adapter that shipped with some of the items I own. Makes me question why Apple isn't making space gray adapters for their devices as it looks much better to have adapters that match the products they are charging.- Portability. I carry 2 charging adapters with me on my commute now. One is a 3-in-1 power bank, power adapter, and wireless charger. The other is this Satechi 100W USB-C PD Wall Charger. The 3-in-1 device ensures I can charge anywhere and at any time. This Satechi 100W USB-C PD Wall Charger ensures that when I get access to a live plug I can top off anything I need to charge at the fastest possible speed. On top of that, it's small, lightweight, and has retractable prongs. What I liked least about this Satechi 100W USB-C PD Wall Charger was:- Only one connection point. If you have multiple devices with multiple charging ports you'll need a cable that has various tips because this power adapter only has a sole USB C connector.Overall, if you're in the market for a slim but powerful power adapter that will match with space gray accessories this Satechi 100W USB-C PD Wall Charger should make your shortlist. This adapter legitimately delivers 100 watts of power which I have used with multiple devices. It's highly portable and looks great as well. I wish it had more than a single connection point but this drawback can be mitigated with the right cable. 4.5 out of 5.0I bought the Satechi 100W USB-C PD Wall Charger mainly to charge a 15.6 inch Lenovo laptop that accepts 100W charging via USB-C PD. This product has worked for its intended purpose. It charges about 70% of the 60Whr battery in about 40 minutes. While doing so this charger does get very hot. I measured and saw the Satechi charger get up to 56 degrees Celsius or 132 degrees Fahrenheit. A major reason for purchase was this charger has a safety listing ETL for North America. So it gave me some peace of mind that I was buying something reasonably safe. I have also used this to charge a S20 Ultra Samsung phone and a S6 Lite Samsung tablet, both accepted fast charging. While charging those devices the charger stays cool to the touch, no issues with heat. Overall, this Satechi 100W USB-C PD wall charger has a nice elegant design, is compact, it is a tad heavy but seems to be of good build quality.Small and clean style charger. Build quality was ok but not great. For such a high price, I was expecting Apple power adapter level of build quality but this ain't it. Easy to travel with. It is about 30% smaller than the Apple 96W charger I'd say. However, it gets hot to touch when charging a 14" MacBook Pro and I don't feel comfortable using it for long period of time. The MacBook also cannot be charged with this charger if working on high demand tasks such as compiling large video files for extended time.I bought this to power my Surface Pro 8 through a Satechi hybrid port adapter and it is working well. Now I only have to plug in one USB-C for all functions (power, monitor, USB ports for wireless keyboard and mouse, and external hard drive).Quality. It just works! :-)
